Final Posts

With these final posts I have made today I have now completed all the required class work. I hope my posts have been interesting to those of you that have read them and I hope I was able to provide some interesting information.

I found this course very entertaining and useful. Hopefully, I will see some of you in the future but if not, good luck and God bless.

Employers' Google Search

I have just come across a blog Lydia made about an article linked from John Battlelle's blog. The artocle discusses a ruling that was made that makes Google background checks okay. It states that it is a valid way of obtaining information on prospective employees.

I found this article very interesting becuase it really shows how almost everything can now be obtained through the use of the internet. Even if someone doesn't use the internet, their information can still be found there. This makes for both a very interesting and scary new world.

Philadelphia Eagles Summary

For my final Wikipedia article, I edited the Philadelphia Eagles Wikipedia page. I was unable to have as much success with this article finding content as I had with the others so I had to make mostly grammatical changes. However, I was still able to add some content.

The first and second revisions I made to the page both had to deal with grammatical changes. Here, I removed words that made sentences confusing and I also corrected punctuation. As far as I know, all of these changes I have made have stayed intact.

The third revision I made to the page was to the popular culture section. In the paragraph talking about Vince Papale, I added that he played three seasons for the Eagles playing special teams and wide receiver. This content still remains.

Philadelphia Phillies Summary

Throughout the course I have also been editing the Philadelphia Phillies Wikipedia page. In it I have made three revisions to the page all in the section referring to the 2007 Phillies. For my first post, I added content where I said Jon Lieber will be moving to the bullpen where he is expected to add much needed relief. Lieber, since then has moved back into the starting rotation so this content was removed.

With my second revision, I rearranged the sentence talking about the Phillies pitching so that it would make more sense. This was mostly a grammar edit. This content still remains but there have been a few revisions to the sentence itself.

For my final revision, I added that the Phillies first reached the .500 mark for the first time all season with a record of 20-20. This content, also, still remains.

Scrubs Wikipedia Summary

For my second article, I chose to edit the Scrubs Wikipedia page. Here, I did not have much success. I was able to add a lot of content but it has all been removed by other users. I guess that is the price you pay for editing a popular article.

For my first edit, I combined the last two bullet points of the trivia section into one bullet point. For my second edit, I added that the character, The Janitor, may finally be given an actual name on the show. Finally, for my third edit, I once again added to the trivia section where I wrote about how the picture on Ted's desk was in actuality the actors real life mother.

Zach Braff Summary

Throughout the course I have been editing Zach Braff's Wikipedia page. For my first post I added content referring to how he has stated he knows nothing about music yet has won a Grammy award for his work on Garden State. My original post is mostly there but the part where I added where he stated this on Last Call with Carson Daly has been moved to the reference section.

I also added content on how he now makes as much as Two and A Half Men star Charlie Sheen after the restructuring of his contract. This content still remains.

For my final post, I added he was the voice of Chicken Little in the movie, Chicken Little, into the quick bio box. This content also still remains.

Final Eagles Edit

I made my final revision to the Philadelphia Eagles Wikipedia page earlier today. In it I edited the Eagles in popular culture section. In the paragraph talking about Vince Papale I added that he played three seasons for the Eagles playing special teams and wide receiver.

Thus concludes my Wikipedia entries.
